Italian Giancarlo Fisichella will be Ferrari's reserve driver next year as well as racing for them for the rest of this season, the Formula One world champions said on Thursday.
"We considered what could be his role inside the team in the near future, also taking this year's experiences into account. He will be the reserve driver in 2010," team boss Stefano Domenicali told the Ferrari website (www.ferrari.
The team had earlier announced that the Force India driver would replace Italian stand-in Luca Badoer, himself replacing injured Brazilian Felipe Massa, for the remaining five races of the season.
